An LTCO kit consists of a temperature sensor that monitors your cold water inlet to your hydronic heater. Many Aqua-Hot models have this sensor installed and wired to the LTCO inputs of the controller. Some models do not. The LTCO kit places a digital temperature sensor on the water inlet as close to the boiler as possible and inside the cover of your Aqua-Hot. The sensor is put in place and affixed to the inlet tubing with a high temperature zip-tie fastener.
DO YOU HAVE A SPYDER OR FIREFLY MONITORING SYSTEM IN YOUR COACH?
Many Spyder monitoring systems keep an eye on the Aqua-Hot burner status looking for "normal" behavior and decoding troubles that may occur with burner operation. Because the Aquamatic SC is in control of actual burner operation the Spyder system must be provided with burner feedback that represents the new diesel burner operation. The Model AM1-S and AM2-S provide appropriate signals to the Spyder monitoring system.
Don't know if your Spyder system monitors your diesel burner? Then take a look behind your electronic Control board cover at the lower-left connector, JP2. Counting down from the top, see if there is a wire at PIN 7 "IND-LT (+)". If yes, then your Spyder/ Firefly system is monitoring your diesel burner. If no, they you do not need a "-S" Aquamatic model.
If still in doubt then know that a -S model will work with a system that does not have a monitoring system. There will just be an extra set of wires that are not used - and you will pay slightly more than a non -S model.
